A Very Special Announcement…

Moments define us. The big moments that we remember forever usually mean that life is about to change. Every decision is the beginning of what could become one of those moments. Raven decided to go watch the cute boy she met at her cousin’s wedding play football. Before the game was over she decided to leave a note on his truck saying that she came to watch him play and would like to hang out sometime (gotta love a girl with guts). Who knew that this one little decision would be the beginning of her forever.

God has an amazing way of making us truly appreciate the miracles he bestows upon us. At times it is beyond difficult to understand why we may have to face challenges in order to experience those miracles.  The heartache and loss these two have endured over the last few years as they tried to add to their family has been a challenge we may never understand. However, the day they heard the heartbeat of their child will be forever noted as the moment that changed everything. They were given the greatest gift and biggest responsibility all at once. Some moments are small and make us smile and appreciate the day. A sweet text from a friend, a smile from a stranger or watching your pets find joy in the smallest things. Then there are the moments where everything stands still, you take a deep breath and realize the importance of what lies ahead. The next chapter of your story is being written right before your eyes.

After two heartbreaking losses and long years of trying, I am so happy to help announce to the world that Raven & Justin will welcome a new little miracle to their family in January. What a way to start 2013! This little one will be so blessed. Not only will they have the most supportive loving parents and amazing extended family, but also a brigade of honorary Aunts and Uncles who couldn’t be more excited. I can’t think of two people more deserving of this sweet blessing. Congratulations to our dear friends. We love you.

My mind went back to a few years ago
We tried so long, we almost gave up hope
And I remember you comin’ in and tellin me the news
Oh man we were livin, goin crazy in the kitchen
We danced and screamed and held each other tight
We laughed until we cried. We danced and kissed and
Thanked the Lord that night.

First came love, then came marriage, next comes the baby in the baby carriage!

My goodness this  child is going to have one beautiful smile. Mom and Dad are just beaming!

Usually I would think the next photo needed some editing on the choice of college colors, however I love this little one so much I went so far as to buy him/her their first college football shirt!

Even though Aunt Shelly will have to secretly teach him/her the Tomahawk Chop as soon as possible:)

How neat are the hearts the raspberries formed?
